Cherry is a type of fruit from the Rosaceae family.

The possible homeland is the region between the Caspian Sea and the North Anatolian mountains. The botanical Latin name for cherry, Prunus cerasus, comes from Kerasus, the old name of today's Giresun.

Cherry was known to the Greeks in 300 BC. It was also extremely popular with Persians and Romans, and they brought this fruit to England long before the 1st century AD. It became popular in England and America in the 16th century.

Cherry kernel oil is obtained from cherry kernels by cold pressing method. It offers many benefits with its fatty acids, vitamin E and various components such as squalene and is widely used in the world.
