Essential oils
are concentrated Mother Nature. They are highly concentrated plant extracts from a variety of sources such as bark and resin, plant leaves, stems, roots and flowers, nuts, seeds and even fruits. They contain medicinal compounds known to support the body's own healing processes. There are more than 3,000 types of volatile aromatic compounds discovered so far. These compounds largely determine the usefulness, aroma, and nature of each essential oil. The delicate ratio of aromatic components found in any essential oil makes it unique and enables it to offer certain benefits. Due to its unique chemical structure, each essential oil varies from species to species and even from plant to plant.

Essential oils reach your body through inhalation and topical application. In inhalation, the aromatic compounds of the essential oil reach the blood circulation through the lungs or reach the nervous system through the olfactory bulb. In topical application, it reaches the blood circulation through the skin.

Pure essential oils are more effective than dried herbs and much more potent than the herbs and trees from which they are extracted. Most of them can cause skin irritation when applied directly to the skin. For this reason, it should be diluted with a carrier oil in skin applications.

Carrier oils are herbal oils typically extracted from the kernels, nuts or seeds of a plant. Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils in direct applications to the skin. Diluting essential oils in a carrier oil increases their effectiveness. It helps to absorb essential oils better. Different carrier oils have different health benefits and nutritional effects. They can be an essential part of your beauty and wellness routine.

Herbal oils began to be used in Ancient Egypt around 4500 BC. One of the first collections recognized by ancient Egyptian healers is called the "Ebers Papyrus". Although it dates to about 1500 BC, it is believed to have been copied from earlier texts. The Ebers Papyrus, which sheds light on ancient medicine with its 700 prescriptions, was found in the lap of a mummy in Thebes and is preserved in the University Library of Leipzig today. The fact that it contains information such as the circulatory system, blood vessels that surround the whole body, and that the heart is a center that distributes blood gives surprising clues about the level of medicine reached at that time. The scroll also contains recipes, ceremonies, and other information that the Egyptians considered worthy of preservation. Usage areas of herbal oils in Ancient Egypt:
